[In search of decoration ...] Rattan, outdoor material by nature
On the balcony, the terrace and the garden, no doubt, the outdoor decoration put on the rattan. Not shy, it also enters our interiors, gently. Fan of authentic atmosphere of nostalgia and a touch of exoticism? Do not wait and crack for rattan, in all its forms.

The rattan trend seduces the pro of decoration
Interior decorator, Valérie Laporte Volatier founds her agency, Les Murs have ears, in 2003. Always aware of trends, she gives us her opinion on rattan. "Considered as old-fashioned a few years ago, rattan has regained its nobility because it integrates perfectly with the decorative styles in vogue: Scandinavian, bohemian chic or ethnic tropical. Vintage or new, the rattan comes in elements that can magnify a decor, provided to be used sparingly : shelf, bedside, armchair, mirror, bed or cradle, suspension ... Its natural side, soft and enveloping makes it a little chameleon.

Can we really adopt it on a balcony, a terrace or in the garden? "If left outdoors, the rattan will go gray with time and lose its natural and fresh side. Today we find rotten or composite materials that seem more suitable for long-term outdoor use, so do not hesitate. "Can we invite him indoors as well?" Absolutely and even more than outside! With Charlotte Soissons Lenormand and Brice Bourdon, the other members of the team of Walls have ears, we prefer use rattan as decorative touches indoors, or in a conservatory for a winter garden atmosphere."

Which brands do you recommend to buy quality rattan furniture? "I'm thinking of Decoclico.fr and Maisons du Monde, which offer rather cheap models. Selency by Brocante Lab or Le Bon Coin, if you are looking for more vintage pieces."
