This farm has been renovated without brutality, respecting the structure and the original openings. With a lot of recycling and just a touch of design. For the visit, follow the photo gallery ...
You do not improvise a site manager and it is very difficult (and hazardous) to follow a renovation remotely. Yet it is the risky gamble that Jean-Pierre and Graziella took up in the Creuse. The house (although in poor condition) they liked of course, but there was also its location: a small path, no neighbor, a nice lot ... But before considering the choice of furniture and decoration, it took To roll up one's sleeves. The project lasted several years: repair of partially collapsed walls, insulation and consolidation of the roof, installation of partitions, cladding of walls and floors, plumbing, electricity, without blirting the creation of a kitchen and several bathrooms ! Guided by their instincts, Graziella and Jean-Pierre were keen to respect the original structure and openings. Only sprained the local architecture: the creation of a large bay window to illuminate the living room.
Throughout the house, the floors are very decorative, but they are almost by accident; they must first and foremost be economical and easy to maintain. Thus, in the dining room, no waxed concrete, the slab was simply covered with a paint that is usually used in a garage. In the living room, there are large boards of raw wood laid on the joists and left as they are, much like an outdoor floor. Identical demonstration in the ground floor room where the tomettes of recovery and the sleepers of oak are improvised carpets of soil.
