Bath enamelled cast iron, acrylic, Biocryl, steel enamelled ... Do not panic, the expert of Cuisines et Bains advises you to choose the best bathroom material.

There are many alternatives, which offer different properties. Traditional, enamelled cast iron bathtub is resistant and insulating. Main disadvantage: its weight (100 to 130 kg). Enamelled steel, lighter is much easier to transport and install. But it is less insulating than other materials, so not ideal for a long bath and the enamel may flake over time.

More and more, synthetic materials (synthetic stones or Solid Surface) are preferred. For example, acrylic that allows light models, insulating, pleasant to the touch in attractive prices. However, it does not tolerate some detergents, but it can be repaired by sanding and polishing. Among the other synthetic materials, Biocryl avoids the formation of limestone and limits the proliferation of bacteria. The Quaryl (Villeroy & Boch), robust and resistant, brings a better longevity to the bathtub.

The Toplax (Allibert) is a reinforced acrylic, non-slip and recyclable. Marbrex (Allia), comfortable to the touch, maintains the temperature of the water. Solid Surface side, Corian (DuPont) or Hi-Macs (LG Hausys), soft and non-slip, can marry all forms. Their large weight does not allow them to be installed anywhere.

All you have to do is choose what you want for your bathroom.
