Broccoli is a variety of cabbage very rich in vitamins and micronutrients. The heads of each stem are eaten before they give birth to flowers. It is cultivated quite easily in the garden and appreciates the heavy and fresh soil.

Broccoli sows from March to May. Harvests are about two months after sowing. Sow in bins in a nursery or on a veranda. Spray in the ground once the plants have reached 20 cm. Do not plant in the ground only the most beautiful plants. Leave 60 cm between each plant, some varieties up to 1 meter !!

Diseases and parasites affecting Broccoli
Broccoli, like all cabbages, is susceptible to slug attack. It can also be attacked by cabbage maggot, white larvae that dig galleries and destroy the roots of broccoli. The young plants weaken and die. Use natural remedies to prevent attacks from the moment of planting. The insecticides based on Bacillus thuringiensis are effective. Also pick up all tracked and the eggs you find on the broccoli heads.
