Sometimes a foot odor emerges after a day of work, a long walk or a workout. Your feet have actually sweated, which promotes the development of fungi and bacteria in your shoes. The latter thus emit an unpleasant and persistent odor. Fortunately, there are effective tips to remove the smell of shoes.

Bad odors in shoes, everyone knows! But not all shoes can stand the washing machine. Here are two effective tips to eliminate odors.

How to eliminate the bad smell of shoes?

Baking soda is a natural chemical that has the ability to absorb odors and moisture. Zinc oxide, commonly known as "white zinc" or "zinc white", is a natural anti-bacterial. Both products are in the form of a white powder and are purchased commercially. In a bowl, mix one tablespoon each, and place this mixture in your shoes overnight, at least 12h. The next day, remove the powder from your shoes before putting them at your feet.

A very good deodorant and disinfectant for shoes

Peppermint in the form of essential oil gives a pleasant scent. It is also an anti-bacterial and a powerful anti-viral. You will find pharmacy or organic store, for a small fee. At the end of the day, simply spray a few drops of peppermint essential oil on the insoles to eliminate the bad smell of the shoes. You can also, before wearing them, sprinkle the inside of your talc shoes containing 10% mint essential oil. Your pharmacist can make this preparation.

You can also take some very simple preventive measures to avoid foot smells: change your removable soles regularly, wear cotton or wool socks, prefer leather or canvas shoes. And if you sweat a lot, do not hesitate to use a foot deodorant sold in pharmacies.
